Blockbuster movie "The Matrix" lost a copyright infringement case. Sophia Stewart's work titled "The Third EYE" was copyrighted in 1981 and also sent to the Wachowski Brothers who later partnered with Warner Brothers. After filing her suit in 1999, there has been a recent 6 year dispute and it was determined more than 30 minutes were edited out of the film to avoid copyright penalties and witnesses stated they knew it was not the work of Wachowski and admitted to using Stewarts work as they were developing the film.
